Design Engineer

Allied Motion, a leading manufacturer of Motion System Products, is looking for a Design Engineer to join our team for its Stature Electric gearmotor division located in Watertown, New York.

Responsibilities:
  • Applies engineering principles to design, modify or develop electric motors, subassemblies and components.
  • Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products,
  • Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Confers with others to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
  • Prepares or directs preparation product layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
  • Directs and coordinates manufacturing and building of prototype products.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Confers with research and other personnel, and prepares design modifications as required.
  • Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of products or other uses. Use computer assisted engineering software and equipment to develop designs.
Requirements:
  • Four (4) year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Must be familiar with SolidWorks and Auto CAD
  • Consideration will be given for equivalent or appropriate education and experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Applied Marketing Specialists

Allied Motion is seeking Applied Marketing Specialists for several of its companies. Locations include:

  • Chatsworth, CA, USA
  • Owosso, MI, USA
  • Tulsa, OK, USA
  • Watertown, NY, USA

The Applied Marketing Specialist position is a challenging, rewarding and highly visible position within the Allied Motion organization encompassing elements of traditional sales engineering, marketing, and product management. This is a key position at Allied Motion through which you can play an important role in our future success and growth, and share in the rewards of that success. As an Applied Marketing Specialist you will have the opportunity using your experience and skills to:

  • Lead sales campaigns to create and grow new business in selected target markets (80% to 85%)
  • Assist in defining Allied's target markets and sales strategies through participation in our target market profiling and analysis process (20% to 15%).

The position of Applied Marketing Specialist requires a technical background in the engineering/application of motors and motion control products. It also requires successful selling/marketing experience of technical products and systems. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree is required to qualify for this position.

Far East Liaison Engineer

Allied Motion is seeking a Liaison Engineer to be based in southern China. This person will initially act as liaison between our U.S. and European companies and our assembly/sourcing operations in China. The ideal candidate for this position will additionally possess the ability and interest to work with our key customers in the Far East in a sales and application engineering capacity. Eventually, we envision the liaison engineer transitioning fully to the position of Applied Marketing Specialist for the Far East region. As liaison engineer you will:

  • Organize, coordinate and manage all sourcing activities from the Far East
  • Be responsible for the start-up of assembly and product production sourced from the Far East
  • Resolve any Far East production issues on a timely basis
  • Assist with logistics matters

The position of Liaison Engineer requires a manufacturing or industrial engineering degree and familiarity with the manufacture of electronic/electromagnetic products. Experience with motor manufacturing is especially desirable as is experience in the application and/or sales of motion control products. Fluency in Chinese and English is a must. The position will be located in southern China.
